Alliance for a Clean Texas Action Alert, April 7, 2017

Submitted by Sean on Fri, 04/07/2017 - 18:00

Dear Alliance for Clean Texas Friend,

Can you believe we have less than eight weeks left in this Texas legislative session? Time is flying by and we need your help more than ever with critical votes on bills in a couple of committees.

There are two important bills we need action on which will be heard or voted on in committee on Monday and Tuesday, so please contact these legislators at your earliest convenience.

ACTION 1 – Help protect Texas groundwater by asking for changes to House Bill 1392. This bill would overhaul the groundwater districts and diminish their authority. It needs to be significantly improved or Senate Agriculture, Water and Rural Affairs Committee members should oppose the bill. The bill will get a public hearing on Monday at 2:00 or upon adjournment in E1.012. Learn more and send a message to the committee members.

ACTION 2 – Tell Senate Natural Resources and Economic Development Committee members to support increased transparency at the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC). The committee substitute for Senate Bill 568 by J. Rodriguez is a bill which would require the RRC to post complaint, violation and enforcement data in a searchable format on its website. Learn more and send a message to the entire Senate Natural Resources and Economic Development Committee.

Follow the bills you care about at and contact Rita to sign up now for the April 25 lobby day. For more information, email
