Dear Friends of the Environment,
As some of you know, the Alliance for a Clean Texas (ACT) is now sending our Friday alerts followed by a Sunday afternoon conference call. Our aim is to engage citizens in helping move good legislation while defeating bad bills that will hinder the public’s right to know, participation in permitting, or place our environment at risk.
We appreciate your willingness to join in ACT’s efforts regarding legislation that helps protects our families, our communities and the public interest.
This week’s ACT conference call will happen this Sunday, February 26th at 4:00 pm. We will have a special guest speaker, Ken Kramer, former Lone Star Chapter Sierra Club director and long-time lobbyist give an overview of water legislation.
In this call we will discuss Appropriations as it relates to the agencies that have jurisdiction over water issues and both the good and bad legislation that relates to water rights, permitting, etc.
Contact Rita for more information about this week's call. After this week’s call, we may move up the Sunday time to 5 or 5:30 pm.
ACT groups have and will continue to identify key bills of common interest to work and watch this session. You can view our key issues and additional information on the acttexas.org site.
We again encourage you to forward this email to others so they can sign up at the acttexas.org website so they will automatically get the weekly bill alerts and the pertinent information for the Sunday calls.
Thank you for your participation. Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
